Striking original origami pendant light in white with space age vibes.
Organic, wave-like pendant made of white plastic in good vintage condition. With small stains on the lampshade!
This pendant is comprised of white plastic sheets, folded and attached to each other with an origami influence, creating a geometric pattern. All sheets are fixed to a round plastic ring and a metal ring is mounted under this and you can attach this to a standard pendant light fitting.
The thin plastic sheets creates a soft diffused light when lit and geometric shadows where the pieces overlap/
Rare that you find these pendant shades in good condition due to the fact that the light bulbs in the 60s and 70s got so warm and the plastic can be split if flexed too much.
Circa: 70s. Lars Schiøler designed a number of these plastic folded lights for Hoyrup Lighting in the late 1960s.
Material: white flexible, semi opaque perspex plastic, plastic ring, metal spider
Measures: 40cm ø | 32cm height
Notes: This vintage item remains fully functional, but it shows sign of age through scuffs, dings, aged finishes.
No shifts or breaks in the white sides. Metal and plastic spider to the centre have aged/discoloured.
