1940s IIOII Vintage WW2 Crepe & Lace Blouse

£95.00

A gorgeous sheer blouse from the 1940s featuring the authentic utility label.

A beautiful style trimmed with floral lace, with a slight peplum detail highlighted by a double stitch row and finished with pearl plastic buttons.

The sleeves gently balloon, are pleated at the shoulder and are pleated into the cuff. The shoulder has beautiful fine pin tucked detailing which is graduated towards to collar.

Fastens with pearl buttons and a hook and eye detail at the bottom, level with the peplum detail.

Would be great with high waisted trousers to show off the peplum and would equally work tucked into denim.

Material: crepe - glass buttons - cotton lace

Measures (laid flat):

40" pit to pit | 36" waist | 14" shoulder (with more room due to pleats cut) | sleeve 16.5" | 24.5" full length

Size / fit preference: 8 oversized - 10 modern fit

Please use a the above as guide only and kindly refer to measurements for true fit and size for you.

Notes: Light traces of use, inner seam have light wear to edge, no rips, tears or stains.

The button on the cuffs have been sympathetically replaced as these were missing.

Other wise pretty perfect for its age and fabric.

According to a 1946 Board of Trade announcement, the IIOII mark (now commonly known as ‘Dinner Plate’ or ‘Double Eleven’) was used to signify that the garment “Is in the most expensive range of that manufacturer’s non-Utility production, for a manufacturer may use it only if he is using a cloth which is not utility & for which he has paid more than a given price. The mark should not be confused with the Utility mark - CC41”.
