Midcentury Hand-painted Cat Tile Art
Folk art style framed tile art, a handmade and hand painted set of four tiles featuring charming cat mounted in a wooden frame.
Sourced in the North Lakes (Cumbria) where there is a history of studio pottery.
The art work is a mix of a Scraffito (scratched technique) and a combination of different glaze finishes from chalky to matt and shiny glazed. Truly unique.
The frame and backer are also handmade and with time worn finish to the wood beautifully aged ready to hang.
A gorgeous mid century piece, which echoes the designs of Ninnie Forsgren (Swedish 1960s) and Dutch Delft designs.
This is an unsigned piece.
