1970s Robert Medley Abstract Poster, Artist Proof
-details-
Original 1970s abstract art poster by renowned British artist Robert Medley, unframed.
This is an original 1970s abstract art poster created by the Royal Academician, a well-respected artist whose work is in the Tate Modern collection.
This is believed to have been produced for an exhibition at The Warehouse Gallery in London in 1973.
This is a poster, not a print, and as such is printed on relatively thin paper. It features a facsimile of the artist's signature in the bottom right corner, along with the date 5-7-73.
Originally there were six identical copies of this poster in a cardboard tube stored in a loft, where they had been kept for 50+ years. As a result, this is quite curly, in generally excellent condition with only minor creasing. There were also another two copies of a version of the same poster with text about the above-mentioned exhibition at the top and bottom. So potentially this is 1 of 6 copies of this version particular poster print.
-measures-
71.5cm in height and 50.5cm in width
-about-
"Charles Robert Owen Medley CBE, RA, (19 December 1905 – 20 October 1994), also known as Robert Medley, was an English artist who painted in both abstract and figurative styles, and who also worked as theatre designer. He held several teaching positions in both London and Rome".

-notes-
- this will be sent in a tube
- this will need careful handling to flatten as it has been kept as a roll and there curls back into a roll after unfurling
- minor creasing to the print from storage - see photos
