Description of goods

We aim to describe items as fully as possible, to the best of our knowledge, providing as much history, age and detail as is known to us together with a full description. It should be noted that the items that we are selling are antique, vintage or handmade items and as such, may in some cases have some age-related wear.

Condition notes include photographs and are detailed in the ‘notes’, please expect some wear. We can send more photographs and information to help you make a sustainable and considered purchase. Returns are really difficult for small businesses to manage so please be mindful of this before committing to purchase.

All pieces are antique or pre-owned, making it much more sustainable than buying new. When you buy vintage each item holds a little piece of its own history which continues with you and your home. 

A house becomes truly you and truly unique when it is slowly transformed over time with collected items which create visual memories.

Prices are calculated at checkout which are the courier charges plus packaging.

We aim to process and post your order within 2-4 working days and we ship worldwide using Royal Mail.

Except for Furniture - refer to item details or get in touch.

We can arrange delivery for larger items using a reliable national courier who deliver to mainland UK. The courier will be responsible for the insurance whilst items are in transit.  ​Delivery  quoted is 'kerb-side only' two man delivery and the Customer is responsible for arranging appropriate transfer into their property.

How soon after despatch will i get my order?

UK Orders via Royal Mail take approx 3 working days after despatch. For Europe and International addresses please refer to the Royal Mail website and select your country for the most up to date and accurate information.

Insurance

All UK orders are covered up to £50 and International orders up to £50. If your order value is above this and you would like additional cover please get in touch for a quote.

Furniture is quoted separately.

Customs / Duty

Retold does not take responsibility for any deliveries subject to customs charges / sales tax. This is worldwide and now includes all countries in the European Union. All orders sent to countries in the EU are now subject to Import Tax & Custom Fees.

The taxation for a particular country depends on the local GST/VAT, as well as the item category and its declared value so we advise you to check what your local rate is before committing to purchase.

There is a threshold which is the amount at which a person begins paying taxes based on the declared value of an item. Anything over that you will be subject to charges. Please note thresholds vary from country to country.

Please check with your local authority before committing to purchase.

Lost / missing parcels.

Knox Design Shop will not refund towards orders marked as delivered with a Royal Mail / courier tracking number and proof of postage. If you miss an items delivery and it is returned postage will not be refunded. KNOXDESIGNSHOP will also not be responsible for any parcels missing where a third party has been nominated by you to accept the parcel on your behalf. It is also your responsibility to ensure your address is correct at the time of purchase. Please check all details before payment.

Any returned parcel which are damaged may not be refunded. Any parcel returned after our return policy period will not be refunded.

REFUND POLICY

All sales are considered final as they are vintage and are as described/photograph without any intention to mislead. We hope that you love your purchase. However, if you do wish to return your item, we offer a 10 day return policy from date of receipt. Please notify us of your return UPON RECEIPT within 3 days, Any request made outside this period may not be accepted.

RETURNS/CANCELLATION PROCESS

Your order will be fully refunded (furniture) or given a credit note (clothing and small items) (excluding any shipping cost) as long as it is returned in its original condition within 10 days. WE is not liable for any additional damage that incurs whilst the item is in your care and any marks / damage noted will be subject to a cleaning / repair fee on return and may affect the validity of the refund.

Due to being a small business we must receive the item back within 7 days of us approving the return (EXCEPT FURNITURE REVIEW ON ACASE BY CASE BASIS). Any return received after this point will be issued as a credit note or exchange.

Please let us know if your order does not arrive within 30 days of purchase.

Please note, the customer is responsible for any return shipping and insurance costs; Kept London is not responsible for any items that are lost or damaged during their return to us. Once we have received your return, we will credit your account within 7-10 working days depending on your payment method which are handled by third party. Paypal is Instantaneous as is bank transfer, if you have paid vis credit card it may take up to 10 days.

As all of our items are antique or vintage they may not always be in perfect condition and may show signs of wear due to their age.

Liability

Knox design Shop  liability for losses is strictly limited to the amount paid by the Customer for a Product or Service. Neither Maud Vaughan Limited nor any affiliate or other representative will be liable for any loss, damage or expense or personal injury arising out of or in connection with the supply of goods or services offered through this website including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss or damage, loss of data, income, profit or opportunity, loss or damage to property, personal injury and claims by third parties, even if  Knox Design Shop has been advised of the possibility of such loss or damage and/or such loss or damage were reasonably foreseeable. 

Electrical products

Please read the item description as the condition of each item will be individually noted. Some items are PAT tested which will be stated.

We recommend that where it isn’t stated that the item has been PAT tested that electrical goods are inspected, tested, certified and installed by a qualified electrician. We also recommend that vintage electrical goods are protected by a "RCD". We will not be liable for any loss, injury or death caused by electrical goods that have not been inspected, tested and certified by a qualified electrician.
