A lovely pair of mcm box joint modernist bookshelf cabinets crafted from solid golden oak with a satin finish.
Originally by Papworth industries war department 1959 with similar pieces distributed throughout RAF and military bases.
These were built with a simple functional aesthetic associated with mid-century furniture.
The visible box joints that give these pieces their distinct character show quality and craftsmanship.
They sit on four angular tapered low feet suggesting at an Art deco influence.
The tables can be used as minimal nightstands, side tables or llibrary tables for book loves with minimal storage. They are great for small spaces combining the function of a table with storage.

-sympathetically restored maintaining a gently aged look and restoring the wood grain
